Labor and delivery trip the other night, MIL visit and all that fun jazz..

Wow, its been a bit since I've written, sorry everyone! I really have been meaning to write more, but its been one of those weeks already.

Our trip out to Arizona was pretty fun, we enjoyed our vacation. I missed my online friends though, it woulda been nice to be able to hop online and play for a few just to relax a little. It was a bit crazy for a few days, but it settled down about the time we left for the most part. Though hubby and our friend Laura were witnesses to an attempted carjacking, which wasn't so great. Hubby used his Marine training and aided the guy that got shot in the arm. I was proud of him for helping out, but it freaked me out that he was SOOOOOO close to a shooting like that. We got home Saturday evening and have been pretty much on the go since then. Its non stop around here lately, seriously its absolutely nuts!

So....yeah, I had a trip to Labor and Delivery already. That was not fun, I went on Monday. I started having what I thought were braxon-hicks contractions on Saturday evening, I figured it was just the stress of travelling all day and left it at that. Then I had more on Sunday, figured it was the stress of that day. (We went to get Alina's toddler bed that evening, Toys-R-Us closed at 7 pm! They used to close at 8 or 9, punks. Plus we found out her crib was among those recalled and we couldn't find a toddler bed anywhere, it was a LOOOONG night.) Anywho, Monday I was in -so- much pain, and I spent most of the day laying down and drinking water. DH and I got a shower that evening after he got home from work and the pain still didn't stop. I finally gave in and let Dustin take me into L&D to get checked out. I was hoping that it was just false labor and I'd be sent home. Nope, got there at 945 pm and didn't get released until about 330 am. They watched me for a bit and there wasn't much going on, just a few little blips here and there. Doc decided to check me for dialation and of course take the samples for testing for labor in the next week and infection. I thought he'd say that I was completely closed and that'd be that. After a ton of pain he says "1 cm dialated, 25% effaced and that the baby was in mid position." Greeeeeeeeeeat. So I get monitored for a while longer, have to do the whole pee in a cup thing (blah) and basically just sit around. Doc comes and checks me again, notices that there are some actual decent contractions coming up on the monitor, so I get the dialation check again. Oh joy. This time I was 1 cm dialated, 50% effaced and baby was at -3 station. Not good....at all. They figure out I'm dehydrated and hook me up to an IV, which took for-freaking-ever. I now am bruised all over my arms. They also give me a shot of tourbuline to stop the contractions, which was not comforatable. So while I sit there getting fluids pushed through me Dustin and I watch 'The Corpse Bride' which was actually pretty cute. 2 bags of fluid later, the contractions had stopped and they were happy. Baby moved back up a little bit, but I"m still dialated and at 50% effaction at this point. I've been discharged and told to take it easy. We got home and Alina was crashed out, our friend was babysitting her. Had to have hubby up for work by 7 am, and then Alina got sick and got a trip to the ER. She is fine now, just had a stomach bug. SHes back to her normal crazy self.

I see my new doctor tomorrow for the first time, so hopefully things haven't progressed anymore since being in Labor and Delivery. I will update ya'll after my appointment. Hopefully I"ll come back with good news.

So my MIL came in to visit on Tuesday, she'll be here until Sunday. Alina's loved having her around, as have I. My MIL and I get along so wonderfully so its nice when she comes and visits. Its been fun having her here thus far, shes been able to give me a break when I needed it and let me relax as much as I can.

Not much else going on here. I will update everyone tomorrow when I get back from my appointment (which is at 145 pm PST.) Have a good evening all!
